Based on the thread on "Oct 07 VA State PE Exam Results....", I did some research on the PE license Numbers (VA).

In DPOR VA page you can search for license numbers using wildcard code "*".

A few months back when we installed Drupal CMS, we were new to CMS and we did not know what should we do with such a vast system of CMS. It looks to us now that the CMS control and administration is really a great painstaking job if you want to have a website run for your fun, and as a part of your community service.

In this world, Nations are created by mankind for the use of mankind. This week's Newsweek reveals that there were several sets of human like people they spreaded all around world since last 1 million years, and Homo Sapios made first debut around 50,000 years ago, and the debut started from Tanzania, Africa. It is based on Scientific Reasoning, and don't bring faith in this controversial topic.

At a time when I was an undergraduate student at Roorkee University (currently: IIT/Roorkee), I used to see international people gathered inside the audiotorium and used to gather inside white tent. I did not have much interest, and I also did not realize that the importance of conferences.

Harvard University is the university where Terzaghi worked as a Professor of Civil Engineering, and Casagrande began his job as an immigrant to US who came here with $400 equivalent money.

My father came to US in 1957, and saw the Russians going to space on American TV at his host's house. He used to tell me that Americans did not believe the news first, because American should have been there, but not Russians, and they believed that it can not happen. It happened. Miracles do exist. It was long time before, I was borne.

I am not sure who coined the word Geotech or Geotechnical, but to me it looks like that British Geotechnical Society might be the first one to officially integrate the word in its Society's Official Name. The word lingered there for long time before it became a house hold name replacing the lengthy "Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering" to just Geotechnical Engineering. Because of internal competition between IAEG, ISRM and ISSMFE, the ISSMFE was not allowed to use the word "Geotechnical" exclusively in its new name ISSMGE, which would have been better of with the IGS. I can not simply understand why the ISRM and the ISSMGE simply merge and form a unified International Geotechnical Society. Anyway, keep on watching the FIGS (Federation of International Geotechnical Society) is coming soon. And, they might increase your membership fee. Anyway, in this blog posting lets focus on the validity of the use of "T" and "hyphen" in the middle of the word "Geotechnical".

Some geotechnical colleagues along with a majority of non-geotechnical engineers or people outside geotechnical profession continue to write Geo-Tech (hyphen), Geo-Technical, GeoTechnical, GeoTech or like that instead of realizing that the Geotech or Geotechnical is a single word: without any hyphenation or without capitalization of T in the middle of the word. Even world's top publishers of the book in Geotechnical Engineering like John-Wiley, McGraw Hill, and others write the word incorrectly using Hyphen. I think that the ISSMGE should bring this issue into attention and clearly identify that Geotech word does not have any hyphen or capitalization of 'T' in the middle of the Geotech word.

Recently I started a project to search the geographical location of the distinguished geotechnical people, organizations: academic, research, others organizations like national and regional goetechnical society offices, and projects around the world. It can be made possible because of the presence of Google Earth Mapping Software and Open KeyHole Technology. I request fellow geotechnical engineers around the world to spend some time and effort to publish the place holder (key holes) at Google Earth, and publish the URL at our website (http://www.GeoXYZ.COM/) dedicated to the Geographical XYZ Positioning of Geotechnical Peple, Org, and projects. You are not only supposed to publish the physical address, but also requested to publish the URL of Google Earth KeyHole (PlaceHolder) so that the fellow geotechnical engineers around world can click on the URL link and download the Google Earth Map in a matter of second. Your participation in this project will serve thousands of fellow geotechnical engineers. In Google Earth, you can also publish photographs, official website address's URL link, and other important descriptions.

In 1997, when I first realized that the domain name is something that you as a public can afford to buy and maintain, then I started searching for the domain name that might suit my need. As the internet was evolving almost from scratch, it was certainly a difficult job to find what you need and what you do not, and in which direction the whole system will move ahead.

When I was a student at a high school level education, we had mathematical tables to do calculations, and scientific calculators just started emerge in the market. The market was very responsive, and it brought calculators of upto date model. They were certainly costly for the students, but students being young people who always strive for new things, bought these calculators. Thats what I did.

When you google search Geomech word results so badly (Geomech and Geomechanics separately produce each about 500,000 pages, combined search produces about 40,000, while Geotech or Geotechnical produces about 10million pages) that I wonder why Geomech word is not so popular?

In 1936, when Late Prof. Casagrande (based on Casagrande Memorial Conf. Proceeding?) proposed to form ISSMFE (International Society for Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering) and have a first ICSMFE, Dr. Terzaghi told him that its a little early. But Prof. Casagrande convinced his former mentor and took a bold step and he went ahead with the idea of ISSMFE, organized the first ICSMFE with a great success. Participation was from more than 3 dozen countries.

This is just an assistance, not the real drupal software or cms files. Use as it is. If it does not work, please don't complain. Try another method. It should work in Linux platform based servers, that is where I tested the php codes. It can save your time, money and effort if you have not yet obtained or do not like 30 day evaluation kinda unzipping software to unzip your tar files. My four steps php codes work right at your server, and avoids all burden of uploading and downloading stuffs large number or files or large sized files (do not worry about interruptions).

This is my very first step towards initiating my own blog site. I wish to begin in this topic, because I love this profession: GeoTech and GeoEng. Let me see how far can I contribute to my profession through this blog site. Today I do not have any special topic. I would like to discuss on a topic that ISSMGE, ISRM and IAEG have initiated a similar talk on finding a common ground where they can merge and form an integrated society, so that we don't have to pay three different subscription fees for almost one profession with a very little gray zone.
